Description
Bison RubyStar Q-Switched Ruby Laser
Bison RubyStar Q-Switched Ruby Laser with its wavelength of 694 nm and a pulse duration of around 40 nsec is an effective modality for the removal of tattoos and cutaneous pigmented lesions.
Features and Specifications
Wavelength: The laser emits light at a wavelength of 694 nm. This wavelength is highly absorbed by melanin pigment with low impact on blood vessels, making it specialized for pigmentation treatments.
Beam Profile: It is noted as the world’s first Q-switched ruby laser to generate a quality Flat-Top beam output, which ensures homogeneous energy delivery and minimizes adverse effects.
Pulse Duration: It delivers ultra-short pulses, approximately 25-30 nanoseconds (ns) in duration.
Energy and Repetition Rate: The system offers high output energy (up to 1650mJ or higher) and a fast irradiation speed of up to 2.0 Hz.
Handpieces: It uses an articulated arm delivery system with various adjustable spot sizes (2, 4, 6, 8, 10mm). A fractional handpiece is also available to reduce downtime and speed up skin regeneration.
Usability Features: It includes an auto-calibration system to maintain stable energy output, a 10.4-inch touch LCD GUI, and an optional wireless foot switch for user convenience.
Indications for Use
The RubyStar laser is indicated for:
Tattoo Removal: It is effective for removing various dark-colored tattoos, including black, dark blue, and green ink.
Benign Pigmented Lesions: It is widely used to treat a variety of pigmented skin lesions. This includes:
Freckles
Age spots (lentigo)
Café au lait spots
Nevus of Ota
The 694nm wavelength penetrates more deeply than 532nm lasers, making it particularly effective against deeper or darker lesions.
